First experiments with folktek matter ii

"Matter ii is a deep module so it difficult to simply lay it out the one would an osc for example. It's a bit experimental anda bit out of the box. For those who understand the original Matter, it may gel. These are the first experiments and this is one approach; yours will be different no doubt. Matter ii is for making beats, for demolishing sound, for drone and noise and yet all of that is difficult to convey due to its depth. It's about finding your own sound.

Where the original utilized dupont, matter ii uses a single point pin matrix. This pin matrix acts as the original Matter alongside (folktek) Resist but there is now cv control over resist. Add the highly addictive vactrol over the final output and Matter ii is a different beast entirely while still maintaining the original analog sonic characteristics of Matter.

For these recordings, varigate 4 was used for the main gates/triggers and a variety of envelopes were employed.
(folktek) Quiet is HUGE when using matter, as well as (folktek) Gait and (folktek) Root - these are very much suggested modules.

Note that at 10:03 a simple waveform from a prototype is utilized to send into Matter ii to show the shaping characteristics. Likewise at 14:42 the same osc is introduced to the path and the drone becomes the processor.
Aside from a couple instances of utilizing folktek matter for reverb and delay (which you should be able to see), these are straight recording without any processing."
