Yamaha CX5M II Music Computer MIDI DX7 FM synth and YK-01 Keyboard
SNs 001107 & 015136
"The CX5M II has an upgraded Yamaha DX FM system, the SFG-05 which supports MIDI input and thus allows the internal FM synth to be played by any external MIDI keyboard. The keyboard does not need any additional software or cartridges to play music or connect to MIDI."
I heard the original CX5M FM synth engine was 4-Op vs. the DX7's 6-Op. Anyone know what the CX5M II was. The listing implies it's the DX7 and the video above shows the CX5M II patch editor for the DX7, but is the internal sound engine 6-Op as well, or does it just allow editing of the DX7's 6-Op engine?
