"A true gem of electronic music history:

BBC Acorn Master / UMI Sequencer
obviously used by DEPECHE MODE (David Gahan)
on their VIOLATOR TOUR 1990.

Why we can be sure that this setup is authentic:

1.) Registered user

The internal UMI-software on the Cartridges shows David Gahan as registered user.

2.) Original Freight labels

This system was sent as part of several stage equipment from Birmingham to Los Angeles right after the tour ended in Nov/Dec 1990. Now, 2019, I contacted the carrier (who still exists) and they kindly confirmed:

"Our company handles the concert touring freight for Depeche Mode to this day. Rock-It Cargo arranges the pick up and delivery of the concert production gear to each stop of the tour schedule as well as handles any Customs requirements. The case you are referring to below was likely included in some of the band gear headed back to LA for storage between gigs. [...] that is most definitely one of our case labels."

Technical Details

Those models / setups are famous for to were also used by Vince Clarke back in the 80s.

The Acorn itself (genuine British version with appropriate AC Plug) looks used but otherwise in good shape. The internal housing of the PSU is somewhat stained and 2 key(caps) are broken/loose - I made no effort to fix them - just to conserve the original condition.
What I did: I just carefully removed the internal potential leaking battery to avoid any damage.
I only powered it up once and barely configured the system by hand - so that the software was able to show up. Its up the lucky owner to complete the computer (Battery and Configuration) and bring it fully up to life.
Otherwise everything comes uncleaned and in exact the condition in which I obtained it many years ago.

The lot includes
Acorn BBC Master System
UMI Seq. / MIDI Box with ribbon cable (I recognised a small puncture on the cable). Fixing tape doesnt stick anymore.
2 UMI Cartridges 6.01 (2 pcs. handwritten: #1 and #2, each populated with a pair of EPROMs)
External Disc Drive 3,5“ with ribbon cable
A bunch of Audio / MIDI / AV - cables
Sturdy Flightcase with labels and signs of rust & dust
Monitor is NOT included

Important

Place of jurisdiction is Austria. According to the age of the system, there are no guarantees at all - so the item will be sold as defective / as non functional – for parts only. I will not take it back.
I will ship this heavy (20kg incl. packaging) beast to any place on this planet (and beyond) as long the buyer will pay for. :)"
