Anyone Interested in a Desktop Version of the Solaris by John Bowen Synth Design?

  2. indeed, even without the keybed the solaris is obscenely large. still would never sell mine, theyre amazing

    1. It’s actually not as wide as you might think - about 34 inches. Still, desktop is probably not the right descriptive word :-)

  3. Then, right below your listing is an OP-Z which looks like a post card in comparison. I got a vision of an elephant playing a Solaris and a mouse playing an OP-Z.

  4. terrible design for a Desktop format.

    the width should be 1/3 of what it currently is.

    to achieve that, better follow the example of Elektron and Hydrasynth.

    keep the center display/buttons , toggle between the other sections by pressing a key,
    not physical redundancy!

    1. Yes, not really (as I said) a “desktop” design. I’ve considered such a smaller unit as you suggest, but this would require expensive re-engineering of the front panel board and cabinet.
