Frap Tools Falistri Dual Movement Manager Overview by Learning Modular

Published on Jan 7, 2020 Learning Modular

"The Falistri Movement Manager is loosely based on a Buchla-style function generator – but it goes far beyond that, including the addition of a pair of flip-flops (frequency dividers), a four-quadrant (balanced, or “ring”) modulator, and linear slew generator that can be used by the function generators in the module or external modules.

I cover the Falistri in four movies: a basic overview, advanced envelope generator tricks, using it as an LFO, and using it as a VCO.

My Patreon supporters will have access to additional posts further discussing these features: https://www.patreon.com/LearningModular
This movie is also part of the extended Eurorack Expansion course available through Learning Modular: https://learningmodular.com/register/..."

1. Frap Tools Falistri 1/4: Overview & Basic Envelopes (LMS EE)
I cover the Falistri in four movies. This one is dedicated to an overview of what its features are and what all those pretty little graphics mean, including how to use it as an attack/decay or attack/sustain/release envelope generator. The index is:

00:00 overview
00:35 what’s in each movie
01:24 the demo patch
01:45 trigger & gate options
03:00 synchronized repeating envelopes
03:58 CV output options
05:25 End of Stage outputs
06:41 Max (analog OR) output
07:00 Rise and Fall times
07:22 Shape controls
08:12 re-trigger behavior
08:44 more on Shapes
09:15 Time Scale switch
2. Frap Tools Falistri 2/4: Advanced Envelope Tricks (LMS EE)
This second movie on the Falistri Movement Manager focuses on advanced tricks for envelopes, including voltage control of the Rise and Fall times, and combining the two halves to create more complex composite envelope shapes. The index is:

00:00 starting settings
00:22 voltage controlled envelope times, patch 1: velocity to Fall
02:14 alt patch 1: CV slider to Fall times
02:44 voltage controlled envelope times, patch 2: note CV to Rise & Fall

06:17 output attenuverters
06:46 Max (analog OR) output
08:06 series envelopes: End of Rise
09:18 series envelopes: End of Fall
10:18 Quadrature mode
3. Frap Tools Falistri 3/4: LFO (LMS EE)
This third movie on the Falistri Movement Manager focuses on using it as an LFO, with emphasis on how to combine its two halves to create more complex LFO shapes. The index is:

00:00 starting settings
00:15 unipolar vs. bipolar vs. attenuverted outputs
00:42 Rise and Fall times
00:55 Shape controls

4. Frap Tools Falistri 4/4: VCO (LMS EE)
This fourth movie on the Falistri Movement Manager shows how to use it as a VCO, including waveshaping, suboctave division, amplitude and ring modulation, and an important tip with tuning. The index is:

00:00 starting settings
