0-C0AST AMBIENT::ERR0R MEM

Published on Feb 4, 2020 C Nich0lls

"Ambient track based on a recording of a performance with the Makenoise 0-Coast synthesizer. The original recording is the first upload I made for this channel. Looking back it seemed quite different to the subsequent videos, so I decided to re-work it a bit.

The original version is here: https://youtu.be/8R5UGs0963U

Hope you enjoy this updated take. Likes and comments are always welcome.

The original, single take still forms the core, but it is accompanied by 2 additional 'tracked' versions that pitched up to create a kind of shimmer effect. They fade in over the duration of the recording.

There are 2 additional tracks added, a low pedal note and some washes of noise. Both of these were also recorded from the 0-Coast.

The effects treatment is quite different from the original. The core recording was recorded through the Red Panda Particle pedal. For this recording the tracks are processed trough a LoFi delay effect from the Strymon Timeline and a Nonlinear reverb from the Strymon BigSky. The 'shimmer' effect that emerges over the recoding is actually 2 tracked versions of the recording that are pitched up before being processed by the effects. A number of glitches are evident from the Ableton algorithm."
