Another great day to chill with the Flame Mäander in the sun! I prepared a simple 128 step backing track with the internal sequencer, locked it and then played on top of it in Shots mode (beat repeat) with the little button keyboard. The notes were quantized live into the same blues scale as the backing track and I’ve used the keyboard transpose encoder heavily to throw in some higher pitched notes.
I chose one of the new Mäander 2.0 B wavetables, containing electric organ and piano waves, which can create dramatically morphing swells when modulated with a slow triangle LFO. There is also the Mäander’s noise oscillator playing a simple rhythmic four on the floor pattern. Tweaking its decay adds some fun variation to the track.
In postproduction on my iPad Pro, I added additional drums with Jim Audio’s PURE ACID iOS drum machine in the Cubasis 2 DAW. For effects I stuck to my trusty Audio Damage AUv3 plugin suite with Dubstation 2 delay and EOS 2 reverb.'
