"Are you really into synths and have a need to be different?

Have loads of euro rack modules and nothing exciting to keep them in?

Have an empty corner that needs some art?

Want to impress your friends?

Then all this is what you're looking for!!

After much deliberation, its been decided that this Phoenix (cabinet) has to rise elsewhere and find a new home.

It was bought from the wonderful Mr Bob Williams many moons ago after it came back from the short lived synth museum in which it housed the Phoenix modular system, more can be read about it here[link removed by eBay] and I believe its the only case ever made.

The SOS article mentions it was made in African hardwood, its NOT, its made from wood veneered MDF with solid wood edges and facings, I think the wood is Ash?

For well over a decade, its resided in the corner of a Sheffield studio and filled with a combination of various euro rack modules twanging, blooping and gurgling away in synthetic harmony.

Most of the units have been modded to take both Analogue Systems and Doepfer modules although some units may need finishing, I've tried it with other makes of euro rack connected to the Doepfer boards and they work fine.

Make no mistake, as it stands in all its Tonto Expanding Headband magnificence its big, but it would easily fit into the corner of a typical lounge (maybe) and would look better than any TV!

The cabinet comes apart into 6 sections:

The top is one section and the bottom is another, these are by far the biggest.

The sections that house the modules are 4 separate boxes so could be used without the top and bottom sections flat against a wall.

Its still in excellent condition with no major chips, dings or scuff marks, only thing of note is the empty screw holes where the original cable hangers were.

Fully built the dimensions are approx:
235cm Wide
214cm High
66cm Deep at the top
48cm Deep at the bottom
Back Curve is 270cm
Front curve is 170cm

The 4 oblong cases are:
51.5cm Wide
152cm High
48cm Deep

ONLY THE CABINET WITH TRUNK LINES AND POWER BOARDS ARE FOR SALE
NO MODULES OR ANYTHING ELSE PICTURED IS FOR SALE OR INCLUDED."
