Horizon // Access Virus TI

video upload by Sounds of Synth

"I set about creating a chilled out track using only my Access Virus TI. All the sounds you hear I have created on the Virus. This was recorded live in one take and no outboard effects or post processing were done.

For me, what makes the virus so powerful is "multi" mode - the ability to split (or layer) the synth into multiple Parts or sections and potentially assign different patches to each part. I find this invaluable when playing live and it really does make the virus shine and stand out from most other synths.

In this track I have split the keyboard into 3 parts. The bottom I have assigned an arp patch that runs continuously. The arp patterns gives the track a sense of rhythm and creates harmony with the other 2 parts The 2nd part is assigned a pluck type sound - this is sequenced by a Novation Circuit. The 3rd Part is assigned a lead type patch. During play I make use of the balance between OSC 1 and OSC 2 of the patches to create variation in sound - another great feature of this synth.

I'm happy with the result and I think showcases what this amazing synth can do and how incredible it still sounds!! You really need to listen to this track either with a pair of good headphones or with decent speakers/monitors. Laptops and phones won't do it I'm afraid :)

Can't see myself ever parting with this synth. It really is a classic masterpiece.

Hope you enjoy."
