Odyssee | A tribute to Vangelis | 0-Coast - Strega - ZOIA
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"I grew up with Kraftwerk, Tomita, Moroder, Brian Eno and Vangelis. From a musical perspective, Vangelis always appealed to me the most. He triggered the imagination. I remember hearing 'Spiral' somewhere around 1977 but he really got my attention at the opening theme of his 'China' album: The illusion of arriving at this huge temple by some Orient Express train. When listening to it today it still sounds fresh and modern. Vangelis is a timeless inspiration for the synth enthousiast. I bet many of us fell in love with synthesis because of him. I know he made records to justify having access to all that amazing gear. To do what he loved most. His story is a valuable lesson. I linked his last interview in the link above the video."
