Though the Memorymoog and the Memorymoog Plus especially have a reputation for having a lot of issues, once thoroughly serviced they can actually be quite reliable and our past Memorymoog restorations have a great track record of years without any problems. We believe in transparency when selling “pro serviced” synths so always include documentation of what services every synth we sell has received. Our approach to servicing vintage instruments entails both making sure every synth is working 100% now, and eliminating common failure points to preempt future issues.
This unit received the following services while it was here with us:
Power supply fully rebuilt (new capacitors, regulators, rectifiers, zeners, power transistors), recrimped transformer secondary wiring
Full replacement of all polarized capacitors in entire unit ("full recap")
Replaced issue-prone Plus board cable
All pots and switches cleaned, all connectors cleaned and confirmed that all plating is in good shape
Replaced ALL op amps on all boards
Replaced ALL CMOS switching ICs/multiplexers on all boards
Replaced all oscillator and filter calibration trimmers
Added mod to allow pitch bender to be trimmed to be +/- symmetrical perfect octave
Cleaned key contacts and contact circuit board
New downstop felt on keyboard for better feel and no clacky key sounds while playing
Fully calibrated and “burn” tested for multiple days
