EEHs Natural Sound Store Unit Zaunkönig Brochure - The FIRST Sampler w/ Realtime Time Stretching

This one was spotted and sent in via M Me. I beleive this to be the first post to feature the Zaunkönig/Zaunkoenig. EEH also made the Banana and the DS 500. I just like saying they made the banana. See the EEH label for more. Why it wasn't yellow or even yellowish green, we will never know...

"Original brochure, allegedly only 2 devices were built. FIRST sampler with realtime time stretching. Was bought by Akai and in a stripped down version, without realtime, for the S 1000. So the wren is the father of the Akai S 1000"

Update: you can find an article in German on the Zaunkonig here.

Update2: scan of the brochure added below along with a close-up pic of the front of the Zaunkönig, in via an anonymous reader. Also some interesting background added.

via an anonymous reader:

"I got a PDF scan of the brochure of the EEH Zaunkoenig. And a photo of the frontplate of the prototype housing. Actually, there was never a working 19" unit of it. It is a single _empty_ 19" housing. And some external electronics in a different housing in much bigger size than the 19" unit for the very first draft demonstrations.

The german company EEH most likely offered the unfinished prototype to other companies to take the developing over for money, as I don't think they were able to finance the complete developing and production start. And as we know, it did not happen under EEH. The main special feature was the transposing without changing the sample duration due to pitch shifting like a harmonizer.

BTW: The distributer ('Vertrieb' in German) named in the EEH Zaunkoenig brochure is Andreas Großer (= Grosser, if written without the special german ligature for a double s). This is the very same Mr. Grosser as the one that recorded an album named 'Babel' together with Klaus Schulze in 1986/87. Mr. Grosser was also a distributer for a professional mixer company (till the 1990ies) and microphone specialist later. He just died this week at the age of 66 (see here: http://www.andreas-grosser.com)."
