"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about the DSI Tempest Analog Drum Machine. Is this hybrid drum machine created by two of the most influential figures in music technology, Dave Smith (creator of the Prophet 5 and important contributor to the midi standard) and Roger Linn (father of the Akai MPC and all that fancy 80s drum machines), the gold standard for hardware-based music production or did the two legends aim too high?
