Interesting rig. You'll find a picture of the back below with the TG33. This is the first post to feature the Hybrid Arts CPX computer module. Hybrid Arts also made the ADAP SOUNDTRACK SAMPLER ADAP-1. If anyone has any info on the CPX, feel to leave a comment. Curious if it's simply a computer with an editor for the TG77 and TG33, or it's own synth/sample playback module. Take a look at the back below. The Synthax RACKWare RG 124 appears to be the monitor for the system, and the Kawai MAV-8 is a midi patchbay.

It's interesting to see the TG77 and TG33 in a different enclosure.

  1. It's a re-bodied Atari ST (not sure which model) with a re-bodied Atari SM-124 high resolution monitor, which was necessary for most sequencers like Cubase. Rackmount Atari ST series computers were never made by Atari, so some boutique makers would make cases and install systems in them for studios. I'd read that after Atari went under, the first company that bought the rights to the Falcon and their remaining stock spent a few years selling them off in rack cases, but I've never seen one before. The 'ST - Bus' blanks on the back lead me to believe it's a Mega STe board, since the Falcon had no expansion bus, only the Mega STe and the TT (which had ports which aren't present on this).

  2. Too bad they aren't shipping to the US. I would almost put in a bid for an ST that low.

  3. Doesn't look to me like there are any Yamaha synths involved... Looks like rack spacers made from Yamaha promo material of that time...

  4. Yes, those are just flat spacer plates.
