These are custom patches for Trance, EDM and Electronica.
This is Yamaha DX7 as you haven't heard it before!

YAMAHA DX7 is legendary. It is famous for it’s classic FM sounds heard in countless 80’s hit songs, but is also famous for being very difficult to program. Its sweet spot is so narrow, that unless you really know what you are doing you end up with distasteful metallic noises most of the time. We at Synesthetica have tried and failed more times that we can count, but eventually discovered many sweet spots of this legendary synthesizer. We decided that it is pointless to keep this legend trapped in the 80’s and created a bank of FM sounds that will find home in modern electronic music and bring a touch of uniqueness to your music creations!

This sound bank is compatible with all DX7 models, most DX7 emulators and also other FM synths:

Yamaha DX7 IID / FD
Yamaha TX7
Yamaha TX802
Yamaha PLG 150 DX

Processing used in this demo:
- hi-pass filter at 40Hz
- klanghelm IVGI saturation plugin (at default setting, just to add some color to the highs and tame the DX7's top-end a bit)
- digital delay and reverb from Zoom MS-70cdr stomp box
(all the basic stuff one would use in real life)"

This is a collection of ambiental patches with an unmistakable DX7 character. All of the patches were programmed by me except two, which are from the existing ocean of DX patches found on the internet, but were tweaked to my taste. This time I didn't use a chorus effect but only a slightly modulated reverb and delay (some patches use both, some only reverb and some only delay). No EQ or other processing was used."

This demo shows you pad, string & ambient sounds. Some sounds are presets from various banks and some were made by myself. Most of the sounds play first only with some reverb and then with a strong chorus effect in order to give you an idea how DX7 can sound with a 80's DCO synth style chorus.
Everything was improvised live (no midi was used)."
