"This was the successor to the CS80 (despite Yamaha's confusing naming system) released in 1981. It incorporated much of the Blade Runner-famous CS80 into the CS70m and added some additional features. The two synths share much architecture and features and you can look up videos and conversations online comparing them.

You can get a huge range of sounds from the CS70: Fat bass tones, organ drones, warm phasing pads, pulsing blips, gurgling resonance, soft dreamscapes, warbling echoes, vintage organ chords, sliding leads, tinkly stardust, etc

A few features of note:
12 VCO, 12 VCF, 12 VCA, 24 EG and 2 LFO functions
61 keys
6 note polyphony
Discrete Duo-oscillators
patch memory
auto-tune feature
polyphonic sequencer
a gorgeous ensemble chorus and tremelo,
Normal, split, and unison mode
Aftertouch routed to modulation
Portamento/glissando

CS70m additions to the CS80:
Built in Polyphonic Sequencer
Bandpass filter mode
Invert envelopes and 5X feature

KNOWN ISSUES:
The separate L and R output jacks are noisy so I've always used the XLR output. Seems like a simple fix though as it's just an output jack.
There's a broken key that has been glued back together. It's solid but you can buy replacement keys on Syntaur.com if you wish."
