Roland Jupiter 6 - Test drive new patches.

video upload by Sebastian Galassi

"As often happens after I have programmed new custom patches, for a specific synthesizer to be used in a project, I create a demo song to check the efficiency of the sounds as a whole.
In this case it is the turn of the Roland Jupiter 6, used for almost all the sounds of the arrangement, to be precise: bass, polysynth, strings and lead. The Bass and Polysynth patch was created in "Split" mode in order to assign the bass sound to the low octave of the keyboard and the polysynth to the high octave, in this way I can play both instruments in a single session.
The sound of the song is very reminiscent of those old Japanese commercials from the 80s, with a bit of an electro-pop and fusion flavour, the choice of the Jupiter 6 (Japanese) couldn't have been more appropriate to achieve that sound ;) For the rhythmic parts, as often happens when I don't use drum machines, I used single drum samples taken from various vinyl records, reprogrammed to create new patterns and then processed with dynamics processors to add dynamics and warmth."
