"This 808 has some excellent upgrades and is in amazing condition for an 808. I have never seen an 808 in this condition before. Service technicians have commented on it's excellent condition.

This unit has the CHD Elektroservis MIDI board installed in it. The benefits of this mod are numerous. No additional holes are drilled into the 808's body to accommodate midi and the port on the back works for midi OR can be used for the normal DIN functions of the 808. I will include the midi cable needed to use midi.

In addition to the MIDI mod, it has Synthronics 100 to 240 VAC PSU installed in it. This is a Japanese model of the 808, which usually runs at 100 VAC. Since this has the Synthronics PSU, it can operate off of mains voltages starting at 100 VAC and going all the way up to 240 VAC. This means that you can plug it into US mains power without any sort of extra transformer.

This unit comes with some nice extras as well. The original box is included. Also included is a Stardust dust cover.

This unit has received service twice in the past 5 years by professional technicians.

In 2021, the following work was done:

new tactile switches
hard wired ribbon from the main board to the tact switch board
cleaning of all the potentiometers by disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication.
cleaning of the output jacks and nuts
replacement of the start/stop button and tap button
Synthronics PSU added
In 2024, the following work was done:

all Matsushitas electrolytic were replaced.
CHD Midi board was installed
cleaned and lubricated all pots and switches"
