"Hilariously overbuilt and overengineered, this ASR sampler was Ensoniq's flagship, and with compatibility to the EPS and EPS16+ there's plenty of cool sounds that you can use right out of the gate.

The ASR-10 (Advanced Sampling Recorder) was essentially the third generation of the EPS series of samplers, sharing the same basic architecture and user interface as the earlier EPS Classic and EPS-16 Plus. The ASR-10, like its predecessors, was a true performance orientated sampling workstation, and did not require a computer or additional equipment in order to create a complete song. It included a powerful and flexible effects unit, polyphonic aftertouch, an advanced MIDI sequencer, load-while-playing abilities, and a powerful multi-layered synthesis engine. The supplied "Musician's Manual" lived up to Ensoniq's documentation practice, with a highly readable, very hands-on and quite complete description of the device. There was even an included tutorial that covered many features of the machine, including sampling and sequencing."

"An analog drum machine clone of the famous CR78, coming with a lot of new features and improvements, from the sound point of view as well as the ergonomics of the machine and the sequencer.

The design of the analog circuit and the sequencer gives it a warm and groovy sound as its elder with much more varied sound possibilities.

The very intuitive sequencer takes on the original spirit while bringing new and unique features and allows you to quickly create complex patterns and grooves while offering great flexibility for live jam and more sound variations.

Among the highlight and new features we find:

- A new, ergonomic design that is very elegant and modern.

- New pots / knobs, bigger, more flexible and very pleasant.

- Carrying bag and decksaver (dust cover) included.

- Numerous possibilities for customizing the LEDs colors to better identify your patterns and more.

"This recently serviced Roland is a great example of a great synth without it's fatal flaw. The red glue has been removed! The faders have been cleaned as well, making it smooth sailing to surf patches. It sounds amazing with plenty of tonal opportunities unlike any other synth. For the casual keyboardist, it may not be the easiest to learn, but the excellent presets cover a lot of ground. But for synth lords, the knob per function layout will be greatly appreciated."

1973 Vintage Moog Minimoog Model D SN 5233

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this Reverb listing

"Offered here is an early production Moog Minimoog Model D, serial #5233, from my smoke-free recording studio, where it has lived for roughly the past twenty years.

This instrument has been featured extensively throughout my own work, appearing on many albums over the course of my 20 year ownership. Prior to that, it belonged to acclaimed Portland keyboardist Ramsey Embick, who toured internationally with The Pointer Sisters during the 1980s using this Minimoog, and performed on recording sessions for artists including Jo Bisso, Alfonzo, and others. Several touring-era modifications performed during his ownership remain intact and are described below.

This is not a museum piece... it is an honest, professionally used early Minimoog with decades of musical history. The front panel remains exceptionally clean and highly legible, all keys play well, and the instrument retains its original character while remaining a fantastic sounding and inspiring synthesizer."

Oberheim Xpander 6-Voice Synthesizer [US Version] w/ Flight Case SN G43214

via this Reverb listing

"Legendary Oberheim Xpander 6-Voice Synthesizer desktop module. This is the highly sought-after US Version (with jack labels printed ABOVE the jacks).

[Condition & Operation]

* Operation: Great working condition via MIDI. I have confirmed that the unit receives MIDI and plays audio correctly from both the main outputs and the individual voice outputs (tested and confirmed working via DIR mode).

* Tuning / Calibration: All 6 voices successfully pass the auto-tuning (ALL PASS) without requiring a long warm-up period. As with many vintage Xpanders, the tuning can be sensitive to temperature and may occasionally show a minor FAIL, but it clears and passes successfully once warmed up.

* Buttons & Knobs: All buttons and knobs respond and work. Please note that due to its vintage age, a few buttons may occasionally have a slightly slow response or require a firm press, but they all register properly.

* Display: The VFD display is clear and fully readable. There might be minor cosmetic or pixel imperfections due to age, but it does not affect readability at all during operation.

Vintage ARP 2600 w/ 3604 Keyboard - 110 Volt Unit

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this Reverb listing

"The ARP Instruments 2600 is a highly revered analogue synthesiser, renowned for its incredible flexibility and rich sonic palette. First introduced in the 1970s, this semi-modular synthesiser became an instant classic, revered by musicians and producers for its distinctive sound and intuitive design. The 2600 features three versatile oscillators, each capable of producing a wide range of waveforms, from warm, deep basses to piercing leads and complex textures. Its unique filter section, with a resonant low-pass filter, imparts a characteristic tone that has become synonymous with the ARP brand. Additionally, the synthesiser includes an envelope generator, an LFO, and a noise generator, providing users with a comprehensive toolkit for sound design.

What sets the ARP 2600 apart is its semi-modular architecture, which does not require patch cables for basic operation, yet offers extensive patching options for advanced users. This design allows for easy exploration for beginners while satisfying the creative demands of experienced synthesists. The synthesiser also features a built-in spring reverb unit and a pair of stereo speakers, adding to its versatility. Its rugged, roadworthy construction, combined with its distinctive 3-octave keyboard with aftertouch, makes the 2600 a reliable and expressive instrument for live performance. The ARP 2600 is not just a synthesiser; it's a piece of musical history, offering a unique blend of vintage sound and timeless functionality, making it a coveted piece for collectors and a valuable tool for modern musicians.

Includes three power supply cables, a collection of patch cables, lids for both cases, and printed patch manual. This unit is 110 volt, and requires a stepdown transformer for operation in Australia."

Macbeth Elements EL2 Analog Synth By Ken Macbeth SN 015

Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this Reverb listing

"Up for sale is a super rare Macbeth Elements EL2 analog synth, hand-built by Ken MacBeth back in 2019 in extremely limited run of only 30 units, as said by himself - the best ever analog synth he ever built in his life… Described by him as “Elements on steroids, circuit wise”. Please do not mislead this with a regular silvers Elements - EL2 is one of a kind the way different unit. It features a striking black aluminium chassis, gold plated touch up keyboard and a very deep vintage style circuitry using through-hole components and 70’s vintage new old stock semiconductors and metal ICs. Three highly versatile discrete voltage controlled oscillators with individual audio outputs and advanced sync capabilities, classic architecture with subtractive signal path featuring unconventional filter slopes, a built-in spring reverb and a tape echo simulator. All this mixed up with a wide-ranging modulators and large tactile potentiometers for deep sound sculpting. Also, Ken decided to completely remove MIDI support making the priority to CV: he noted that most musicians use the instrument with Control Voltage and modular setups anyway. Removing MIDI parts freed up physical space and optimised the pure analog circuitry. VCO1 and VCO2 now get their own knobs instead of sharing just one. New spring reverberation circuit in EL2 provides a much deeper, different sound than the first model. Cross-modulation expanded as well: VCO3 syncs to VCO2 and VCO2 can now syncs to VCO1 directly. Of course, inspired of the legendary EMS Synthi, but ones you came across both in one room - you will definitely can’t choose which one is better here. EL2 will be never produced again and it’s already a holy grail in the world of analog synths. This exact one is number 15 of 30. Comes with the original power supply. Everything you can see in the pics is included in that sale. Was a beloved studio toy, but now it’s time to go! In excellent overall and technical condition. Please see all pics cause they are a part of description. Free shipping within the US from Brooklyn, NY. International shipping from Brooklyn, NY to any place in the world with a tax free service."

Schober Dynabeat 1968 Transistor-Based Drum Machine

video uploads by Adrian Täckman

Found the above searching for a demo after seeing the listing below. This is the first post to feature the Schober Dynabeat.

via this Reverb listing

This appears to be the first one featured on the site. Moby had a Portable Dynabeat you can see in this post (do a find for Schober when you get there).

"Here’s a rare Schober Dynabeat (1968). It’s a vintage, transistor-based electronic drum machine designed as a DIY kit to accompany Schober organs. It produced percussion sounds (bass drum, tom-tom, cymbals, bongos) using phase-shift oscillators, allowing players to trigger sounds via small pads or by connecting it to the organ’s lower keyboard and pedals."

These appear to be listed separately as well. See the seller's other items.

"We recently acquired these two consecutively cute curiosities courtesy of a very inspiring and equally interesting gentleman and great friend of the late Don Buchla. When I brought them back to the shop, naturally I plugged the 101 in and attempted to get proper scaling and triggering sound out of it for 45 minutes, watching videos reading pointers etc. Finally I tried turning the 5 pin keyboard plug around, and then I lost 4 hours in seemingly 10 minutes. I was floored. I didn’t hook up the 200. The next day I delivered these to my friend and tech in Santa Ana. Within a week he had checked them out , addressed any issues and found them to be fully functional and in great working condition. So I picked them up and was really excited to try the 200. Got back to Fullerton and plugged it in with a mf-104 tailing into an early cooper cs-106+ and went to heaven. The spring sounded like the grampian, the preamp is also in that vein, dual ring modulators are very special. In particular as a studio piece the stereo functionality takes this to another level, signal processing to use while mixing or effecting tracks Is very much more than 1/2 the value with the 200. Awesome machines."

"Purchased in Los Angeles in 2012, but it did not come with a lid. Serviced within two years, and have the notes available. Plays great. Sound and playability are incredible. Master Volume has a bit of scratching, but otherwise functions as it should. Local pickup in Austin only. Everything works, including CV and gate."
