"Rare & All Original
1970s Analog Dual Oscillator Demo"
via this Reverb listing

Launched in 1978 by Adrian Wagner and Chris Huggett, the Wasp was EDP’s most successful creation. Its bold black-and-yellow design, flat touch-sensitive keyboard, and pioneering dual digital oscillators made it unique. With its switchable CMOS filter (low, band, high-pass) and internal speaker, it delivered a sound that inspired artists from Eurythmics to Devo.
Serial: 001579
Check out our demo video where we do a quick run-through of some of its sonic range. Skip to last listing photo for the video.
Condition:
Recently serviced (14th Aug 2025) and fully functioning. Excellent cosmetic condition for age – minor scuffs to faceplate, a couple of tiny casing cracks from overtightened screws (photographed). No battery compartment corrosion (increasingly rare for a ’70s battery-powered unit).
Serviced: Professionally inspected and cleaned – pots cleaned, no damaged or burnt parts, no scratchy pots.
Originality: 100% all original components – no modifications.
Photos: Internal/service photos available upon request.
Features: Dual digital oscillators, dual envelopes, switchable filter, internal speaker, external output, proprietary multi-synth connection system (pre-MIDI).
Power: Takes 6 × 1.5V batteries (new set of Varta batteries fitted but may be excluded for some destinations due to shipping regulations).
An increasingly rare, all-original, staff-approved, fully working example of one of Britain’s most collectible synths – ready to play, record, or display."
