Maplin 5600S weird, wonderful, as seen

"So here is my weird and wonderful Maplin 5600S. Its in excellent visual shape and will come with more pins. I have a little box of them. It’s working condition depends on its mood of the day. It sometimes takes a little while to come to life and on a good day it works largely as expected. On an excellent day it doesn’t work as expected and that is when I harvest samples which can never be reproduced otherwise. On a bad day it drops outs and you may come to think its had it. But then you switch it on again and eventually it goes on to produce sound. I never had it fixed for fear of loosing the excellent days where it does stuff on its own. But the price for that is unreliability. So if you want to have a reliable machine you need to have it substantially serviced. I should also mention that some of the knobs need cleaning and are sticky. I cannot guarantee for specific functions and some I don’t fully understand to this day but I had it on a few days ago and the 4 oscillators, the mixer the filter and the envelopes worked, the keyboard worked. But sold as is."
