WaterWork Preview 1

video upload by ParadisoModular

"This video shows a patch that I made over the last month that is all derived from independent water sounds. from I fade the straight audio in occasionally as a stereo pair, but also run it through many effects (e.g., a flanger, granular effects that give it more of a water slap sound, etc.) and fade those in and out too, plus also use the water sounds as triggers (coming from envelope followers) and clocks for lots of audio events, use the water amplitudes to affect various processes, vocode the water against chords, and also run the water sound through one of my frequency/voltage converters that is in turn quantized to a scale that works with the chords, and form different kinds of sequences through that. The water sounds drive essentially everything in this patch. Occasionally I drive my vocoded water sounds through a 'Mellotron' tracker pedal, crossfading the source between the raw and reverbed versions. And so on... - there is lots more going on in this patch. I've evolved it through several versions, tweaking different sounds and processes, and I have hours of this recorded at various stages in case I do something more formal with it. But here's a good 5 minutes of it recorded last week, to give interested folks a flavor of what it does. All autonomous - no real-time input from me - a generative patch essentially driven entirely by the water."
