In this video, I sit down with Máté Szabó, the mind behind Doboz Modular.
I traveled to Budapest, where Máté designs and builds his instruments, to talk about Eurorack, the process of creating a modular synth module, and why it can sometimes be challenging to think of a modular system as a traditional musical instrument.
We also discuss Máté's latest creation: DVNA, a compact standalone synthesizer featuring a monophonic voice with paraphonic chord output, designed to bring expressive harmonic control into a portable format.
