"This listing is for a 1983 Roland Jupiter-6 Polyphonic Keyboard Synthesizer. The Roland Jupiter-6 is a legendary 6-voice polyphonic, 12-oscillator analog subtractive synthesizer first introduced by the Roland Corporation in January 1983. Originally designed as a more affordable, stable alternative to the flagship Jupiter-8, it carved out its own unique sonic legacy and became a pioneer as one of the first synthesizers equipped with a native MIDI interface.

SPECS:

Serial # 343465

Date of Production: August, 1983

Voice Architecture: 6-voice polyphony featuring two Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) per voice (12 oscillators total) utilizing highly stable CEM 3340 chips.

Waveform Flexibility: Allows simultaneous selection of multiple waveforms per oscillator (sawtooth, triangle, square/pulse, and noise)—a versatile layout not even found on the Jupiter-8.

Multimode VCF: Equipped with a resonant analog filter capable of low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass settings.

Performance Control: Features a 61-note keyboard, a versatile built-in arpeggiator, patch memory (48 tones, 32 patches), and dual LFOs.

Voice Assignment Modes: Supports "Whole Mode" for a massive 6-voice single sound, "Unison Mode" to stack all 12 oscillators on one note, and a bi-timbral "Split Mode" to play two separate sounds at once."
