"The joy of sound, before it becomes music. A wind chime looping in the woods at Superbooth, La Monte Young's Composition 1960 No. 7 in a Liverpool theatre, and one thick, warm tone from the AJH Synth RadioPhonic that I couldn't stop playing.. 🎧 Put this on headphones or big speakers - the bass is lovely.

Why do we remember a melody but not a sound? Why is Superstition not Superstition without the clav, or In the Air Tonight without those drums? And when did we stop just listening?
