An autonomous system that generates sound on its own. Human removed. No direct intervention, no conventional performance. Only the rules defined by the patch remain, shaping an evolving sonic landscape that unfolds beyond human control.

What happens when machines are left to create their own sound worlds? Where does composition begin, and where does it end? What role does the human play in a composition that emerges from a system designed to operate independently?

What is analog? What is digital? And where do the boundaries between the two dissolve?

What if the Machines? explores the relationship between human intention, algorithmic structures, and autonomous sound generation, questioning the role of the composer in a world where machines become the performers.
