Audio Computer Loom demo
video upload by Starsky Carr
"Audio Computer's LOOM is a four-track multi-loop time stretcher built for textural soundscaping - and this is the near-final prototype, shown to me at Synthfest UK 2026 by Ben from Audio Computer. It's not out until next year.
If you know Audio Computer, it's probably from Beat Friend, their brilliantly odd drum machine. LOOM is something else entirely: load four sounds - from stereo mics, line in, or your own files - then slow them to an absolute freeze, run them backwards, and melt the lot into a soundscape.
What's in it:
Four tracks, each with its own pan, FX send and LFO routing
Four time-stretch algorithms: tape, blur, pristine and beats
"Pristine" does extreme slow-down with virtually no artefacts
Three LFOs - volume, pan and stretch - with selectable shapes
Triforce FX unit: dual reverbs, bit crusher, low-pass filter
Headphone jack on board, with battery power and stereo mics planned
Save the whole thing as a patch and come back to it later
The pitch is a self-contained field soundscaper: unplug it, sit it on the piano, press record, play a few notes, put the headphones on and stretch it into something else - no preamps, no DAW, no setup."
