Bos Legio: Cowbell voice on the Legio platform

video upload by Noise Engineering

"Bos Legio is a cowbell and agogĂ´-style percussion voice with three different synthesis engines because, obviously, you need more cowbell.

Let's start with Mode. This switches between three completely different ways to make your bells: an 808-inspired square-wave engine, an additive bell, and an FM/ring-mod engine for much more metallic textures.

Decay controls how long every hit rings out. Tone changes the harmonic character of the sound.

Then there's Tilt. This shifts the overall brightness between dark, normal, and bright.

Pitch tracks 1 volt per octave, and a quick press of the Pitch encoder also mutes the voice.

Bring another signal into the FM inputs and Bos starts getting a little less bell-like.

Today your Legio has a fever for cowbell. Tomorrow it can be a supersaw, wavefolder, granular processor, or physical-modeling voice. And they're all free to swap over a USB connection.
