fm1-dock: one FM-1 firmware, many synths

video upload by Joakim Eriksson

You can find the M-VAVE FM-1 on Amazon.

"fm1-dock is a firmware for the M-VAVE FM-1. You install it once, and the synths live as modules in Flash. Hold HOME, pick one and play, with no reflashing.

In this video, on a real FM-1 and in the emulator, running the same firmware and the same flash:
FM-1 SID: C64 tunes on a cycle-exact 6510 and reSID (Arkanoid, Wizball, Commando)
OberVave by zvenson: a 4-track analog poly
CS-1 by twochannels: a CS-80-style synth
Scintilla: the 1981 Elka Synthex, ending on its laser harp ('Ring mod.')

You can write your own module and deploy it over USB in seconds. The log, the crash record, and the CPU load are one click away in the browser. fm1-dock also has BLE-MIDI. Your modules and presets survive firmware updates, and the FM-1 Firmware Hub takes you back to the official firmware at any time.
