Marimba Legio: Percussive physical-modeling voice on the Legio platform

video upload by Noise Engineering

"Marimba Legio is a physical-modeling voice and resonator based on the sounds of struck and bowed resonant bars.

Get a Legio module and swap to this firmware today:

Let's start with Type. This gives you three different resonant materials to work with, from woody marimba tones to metallic bars and glassy tubes.

Decay controls how long those resonances ring out, from short percussive hits to long, sustained tones.

Tone changes the character of the strike itself, going from softer, rounder hits to much brighter attacks.

Then there's Mode. You can use Marimba as a traditional struck voice, or bring external audio into the Excite inputs to strike or bow those resonators in completely different ways.

And since Pitch tracks 1 volt per octave, Marimba can be sequenced just like an oscillator.

Today your Legio is a marimba. Tomorrow it can be a supersaw, a snare, a wavefolder, or something considerably stranger. And they're all free to swap over a USB connection.
