Buchlidian Voltage Processor

flickr By g.p.macklin

"This modules are based on a Don Buchla circuit that provides +/-5V offset, glide, and attenuversion for modular synthesis. They are almost finished with the exception of the front panel graphics and bicolor LED. Even without the finishing touches, they will still be quite useful and shall provide a much needed function in my Eurorack system.

More information about this circuit can be found in this Muff Wiggler thread.

Granular Matter"

via negativespace on the thread: "This project started last winter when a fellow Wiggler sent me an old home-etched PCB and asked me to find out for sure what it was, then duplicate it and build 4. It turned out to be one of these - or so we thought. The etched board did not match the layout from the documentation - so I started over and just made a new board.

The simple but useful circuit was originally designed by Chris MacDonald, modified by the infamous Peter G., then further modified by Matthias Herrmann (fonik) and released as a schematic and P&P layout in 2006. It has +/-5v of offset, a glide control and an attenuverter plus a driver for either two LEDs or one bi-color LED. I did not modify the working bits from Matthias' schematic, and this 1.5" x 3.2" PCB is the end result. Prototypes have been tested and it's good to go. I did add a few things:

- MOTM + Euro power connections.
- On-board pots - 1.2" on-center for my own panel design. Pads for both .1 - and .2" lead spacings.
- 2 mounting holes for those who don't want 1.2" pot spacing and wish to use a bracket.
- Reverse-polarity protection diodes."
