"Don't miss the opportunity to meet Tony Wride from Exclusively Analogue at Synthfest UK 2026 in Sheffield. https://www.synthfest.co.uk/
He'll present his modular synths based on the classic E-Mu modular:

We see here a system I ordered from Exclusively Analogue and I'm very happy I did this. This system and the EMU re-creation is awesome. It is also a pleasure to deal with Tony."

"Short session on modular as pain therapy...
I prepared this short session a few days ago and recorded here today.
It is inspired by a Tangerine Dream track on "Mojave plan". It is far to be my favorite TD album, but it is perfect for a very short session.
Sorry for the bad video quality. The first video I do record with a refurbished iPhone 12 I got a few days ago. I'll have to check why the quality is so terrible compared to the old iPhone 8 I had."

"Short session with the Tribute/Pioneer system by Exclusively Analogue.
The first 2 oscillators in the second row go to the Ring Modulator. I enjoy very much its sound when witching the second oscillator to a different sequence or switching to an higher octave.
A remark: the blue cable going from filter to VCA is not necessary as the modules are internally connected via normalled jacks."

00:00 The patch
02:28 Square to Lowpass
05:17 Square to Lowpass: adding resonance
08:08 Sawtooth to Lowpass
09:34 Sawtooth to Lowpass
13:41 Triangle to Lowpass
16:54 Triangle to Lowpass: one octave higher
19:45 Sinewave to Lowpass
22:49 Mixed signal (Square/Saw) with FM to Lowpass
25:54 Mixed signal (Square/Saw) with FM to Lowpass
30:54 Mixed signal (Square/Saw) with FM to Lowpass

Filters in the patch:
1st row: EA2120 Universal Active Filter (original EMU design). I take its low pass output.
2nd row: EA2101 Voltage Controlled Low Pass Filter (redesign)
The EA2101 is a redesign of the original Emu Low Pass Filter using the new SSI2140 IC which is basically an enhanced version of the famous SSM2044 that was designed by Dave Rossum. This is a 4 pole, 24dB, Low Pass Filter with addition of voltage control of the Q (Resonance), which was not on the original Emu LPF."

"I realise that the sequences are very repetitive, but I didn’t cut the video so you can discover the sound like I was discovering it during the session.
The Echolette that was sitting on a shelter for so long without being used gives a nice character to the first sequence.
I love these filters. The Universal Active Filter in the top row is excellent."

"Afternoon impro with this lovely modular system.
It would be worth giving it another go, record another take, but imperfection and letting go is a big part of my training!"

"Discovering the system and how it sounds while jamming on simple patches.
I don't have the gear to record in best quality in this room... I wish you'd hear the sound I'm hearing during the jam."

1. Synthfest UK 23: Sequential - Trigon 6 Desktop

At SynthFest UK 2023, we had the opportunity to chat with Chris from Sequential, a part of the Focusrite group. Chris introduced us to the Trigon 6 Desktop, the latest addition to Sequential's synthesizer lineup. This compact desktop version of the Trigon 6 packs a powerful punch, offering three oscillators and a distinctive Dave Smith ladder filter. Designed for those seeking a space-saving solution without compromising on sound quality, the Trigon 6 Desktop retains all the features of its larger sibling, including patch recall, a versatile effects section with various modulation possibilities, and the distinctive feedback control that allows you to sculpt sub-harmonic richness.

Trigon 6 Desktop Price: $2,499

2. Synthfest UK 2023: Calc And the Prophet X

At Synthfest UK 2023, we caught up with Calc from Sequential, and he gave us the lowdown on the Prophet X. Now, you might be thinking, Prophet X? Haven't we seen that before? Well, you're right, but this hybrid instrument has been quietly making waves in the music world. It combines digital and analog elements, with digital oscillators and a unique twist in the form of multi-sample-based instruments. Yes, you heard that right, it's not just your run-of-the-mill synth; it's a full-on sampler too, boasting an impressive 50 gigabytes of memory for your custom samples. You can treat it like a rompler, a sample player, or even use those samples as oscillators, creating a whole new realm of sonic possibilities.

Plus, it's packed with stereo goodness, allowing you to explore a wide soundstage with ease. It's not your typical synth, and that's what makes its a favourute of Calc's
