"Kimball Challenger P5 Programmable Synthesizer Electronic Keyboard. Excellent cosmetic and working condition. Comes with manual, programming cards, and original purchase receipt from 1985."
"Here's a rare vintage keyboard/synth/drum machine/noise machine/chord arranger from the 1980s that looks as rad as it sounds! This machine will nail that Beach House sound, has a great organ and celeste preset, a flute patch that's not far off from a Mellotron, a primitive arpeggiator-type of setting for the banjo sound that is a blast to use, weird brass sounds as well some great weird synth-y tones, hilarious sound effects, great drum patterns with a fill button that adds nice variation and more. If you're looking for some serious vintage vibe to add to your studio and performances you just found it."

"KIMBALL CHALLENGER P5 MONO-SYNTHESIZER
Mono or polyphonic with rhythm, split keyboard, sound-effects generator, optical-card-programmable.
Serial number: 438003
Auction includes: Kimball Challenger P5 synthesizer, 2 complete sets of optical reader cards, 2 Sight & Sound International instruction manuals, 1 Kimball owners manual, attached power cord, vinyl cover and original stand.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
FLAWS: A few keys in the upper register work intermittently. There is some discoloration from age, but zero damage. The Kimball owners manual has writing in pencil on the cover - but that's it.
POSITIVES: It's clean, its unscratched, all the buttons and lights work, the optical card reader works. The stand is solid, the cover is in good shape. This was a home used keyboard...never left the house.
WORKING CONDITION: Works as described guaranteed.
This has a real mono synthesizer with really cool sounds, as well as the standard organ sounds and drum machine. The card reader thing is really cool and unique..one of the sounds on the cards is a lead mono synth with portamento...sounds rad. The few keys on the high octave work intemittently, I suppose because they did not get played as much..they probably need contact cleaning, but work."
See the Kimball label below for more. You can see the preset names in the images below. It also has a rhythm accompaniment section. Curious if these were digital, analog, or both.
"In this video i'm running the Kimball Challenger drums into the Jupiter T from one output and into another amp from the second output. This way you can hear both the dry & effected sounds. Go freakin' space crazy with your own Jupiter, only from chamberofsounds.com"
"Here's the brand new Jupiter T 3.0 with a Kimball Challenger's drum machine plugged into it. It's going through a Memory Man and an old Jordan amp. New additions on the JT3 include an LED power indicator and a 9V battery compartment. Now you could make transmissions anywhere. Only from chamberofsounds.com"
