"QUAD APPLICATIONS

The QUAD console has a separate headphone amplifier for practice or tuning. The mixed output provides an excellent feed for virtually any recording or live situation. The individual channel outputs offer the same mixing flexibility as a close miked drum set, with an even tighter sound.

For monitoring, the drummer and other musicians can wear studio cue headphones, totally eliminating mic leakage and sympathetic vibration in nearby acoustic instruments. The QUADS mixed output can also be fed simultaneously to a bass or drum amplifier for convenient in-studio monitoring and room sound."

SYNDRUM QUAD Analog Electronic Drum Synth

via this auction

"This is the one-of-a-kind Syndrum Quad, the hard-to-find first electronic drum made famous by the likes of David Robinson of The Cars, Terry Bozzio, Roger Taylor of Queen and many others. If you've found this, you know what this is and the unique sounds it makes that you can't find anywhere else. The Quad was the most famous of the Syndrums models... Because the pads use a typical 1/4-inch plug, you could use different pads if you choose, such as Roland PD-8s. This rig also includes the Pollard Foot Pedal."

This piece of electronic drum history has recently been tested and works perfectly. As you'll see from the photos, the pads show foam on them from being in storage the last 20 years. I chose not to clean them up after testing the rig, I will leave that to the new owner. Some of the sliders are missing their caps, but this doesn't affect their function. Because the pads use a typical 1/4-inch plug, you could use different pads if you choose, such as Roland PD-8s.

This rig also includes the Pollard Foot Pedal."

Syndrum Quad Vintage Analog Drum Machine

via this auction

"Syndrum Quad with custom wood sides... Included is a really long (I think it's 15 or 20 ft) breakout cable in order to trigger the 4 modules. It was wired into my patchbay so you will just need to add 1/4" connectors to the 4 ends. I had it custom made because the original trigger cable was short and always got tangled."

"Recorded on September 2, 2010 using a Flip Video camcorder."

via this auction

Note the date of the video. The video was just linked in the auction for demo purposes and is not the one for sale. The following is from the description: "The build quality of the Syndrum is typically seventies American ( moog Arp) but seems to do all that's needed occasionally you get a sticky slider or switch but most of us can deal with that if you want to fully restore it is is thankfully fully discreet circuitry and all parts are available i haven used the pads ( loom is included ) i was triggering this from voltage triggers or sound sources i don't think the 4 pads are working properly but its probably only a minor issue with leads or connections it has been describes as 4 Moogs in a box? http://electro-music.com/forum/post-15480.html i can tell you it has a very wide range of sounds and extremely wide range LFOs at times it can get out of control but if you can control it then huge subsonic kicks . crispy snares and melodic toms toms are all there all 4 voices are identical this has a far wider range of sounds than other electro drums of the late seventies ( like Simmons SDS5 - i have owned all of them at some stage ) the book had not been written yet and rules were broken"

VINTAGE SYNDRUM TWIN 278 SYNTH DRUM EFFECT PEDAL

via this auction

"Syndrum Twin Model 278 serial number 1112 in beautiful cosmetic, (except for missing slider knobs) and perfect working condition. We guess late seventies early eighties production date to compete with Simmons and other triggered electronic drum brains popular at that time. Original mounting bracket and AC cable intact."

Syndrum vintage 80's analog drum synthesizer

via this auction

"Here is the Grand Daddy of all electronic drums, the Syndrum. I love the syndrum because of its quality of sound and it looks like a real drum. It has a great "real" feel that will fit right in with your acoustic drum set and can easily be attached to existing drum hardware.

This vintage made in the USA analog drum synthesizer will rattle your windows with its sub sonic lows, make the famous laser sound that you heard on many disco songs in the 70's, plus much more. These are hard to come across and were used by open minded musicians in the 70's like Frank Zappa, Keith Moon, Queen, etc. I am including a pair of drum sticks so you can get started right out of the box. Everything functions as it should. The syndrum includes its original power supply, box, and a syndrum catalog. THe syndrum catalog has a rip in the front cover, but all pages are intact and it shows all the cool gear that was available from syndrum at the time and the artist that were using it. The original box looks like a thirty year old box but works. And the syndrum is in great condition with a small amount of wear on the drum head from normal use."

Syndrum Drum Synth

via this auction
"Used by many of the 70's-early 80's drummers. Was made famous by the disco tune 'Ring My Bell' by Anita Ward. This is much more than a disco sound, it's flexible and very cool synth. Even Terry Bozzio (big haired drum god) used to rock one of these back in the day. This can also be triggered via CV which is nice. I triggered with a 707 drum machine and it worked like a charm. Comes with pad, control pedal and power adapters for 240V and 120V. Nice."
