Nina building a Synthacon style filter

YouTube Published on Sep 11, 2012 by Zoë Blade

"A time lapse video of Nina building a Synthacon style filter. It's the Elby Designs Panther series version of the Ken Stone design, or CGS735 for short. ("Catgirl Synth", apparently.)

We had to modify it a little afterwards to get it to work correctly, putting C211 in the other way around and replacing two of the diodes with jumper wires."

Homebrew step sequencer, "Stepper Acid"

via Zoë

"My partner (Nina, who took this picture last year: http://m.matrixsynth.com/2011/12/idow-matrixsynth-modular-pic-of-week_26.html ) and myself have started work on building an acidline step sequencer together. It's in the early prototype stages at the moment, so there's no interface, just a preset pattern, but it's already starting to sound pretty good hooked up to our Doepfer! The project is open source, for both hardware and software, so anybody can see how it works and cannibalise it into their own open source projects.

IDOW & MATRIXSYNTH Modular Pic of the Week - Week 9 Contest Winner!

"Our ninth winner of the Modular Pic of the Week contest goes to Nina Richards for her untitled Doepfer suitcase shot.

Nina is half of a music/photography partnership with Zoë Blade, who submitted the photo. "Nina and I have featured our music and photos in various indie films, the latest being the documentary Warren Ellis: Captured Ghosts, about the comic book author. It's nice to have this opportunity to combine our two passions!"

Check out Zoë Blade on Bandcamp: http://zoeblade.bandcamp.com

We'd like to give a big thanks and congratulations to Nina Richards and Zoë Blade for their submission! This is the 9th week of a 30-week contest, and we are looking forward to many more modular photo submissions, so please keep 'em coming! For details on how to submit and what you can win, see this post.

For more info on the upcoming 'I Dream of Wires' documentary, be sure to see the trailer and IndieGoGo fund raising campaign here.
