"MUTE SYNTH II - 2014 Dirty Electronics Handheld Synthesizer / Sequencer. Comes with original box and everything you see in the pics. This is one crazy little synth that I never quite got my head around, but you can definitely make a hell of a racket with it! Works fine, and is in good cosmetic condition. Please study pics for further details."

"At the core of the instrument is a versatile mini patchbay that provides expansion and modification permutations and a grid-like visual representation of patched parameters using coloured jumpers. The patchbay encourages interaction with the instrument and playfulness.
The printed circuit board artwork, with a black and silver finish, has multiple touch electrodes in the form of small squares that provide a labyrinth of possible connections and resulting behaviours. Different rhythmic sequences are created through hybrid 4-bit binary coding, feedback loops and bit bashing.
Dirty Electronics Mute Synth II (MSII) features:
# Noise generator
# Feedback
# Oscillator
# Wave shaping (triangle - square)
# Buffered output
# Sequencer
# External clock option
# Touch and knob/potentiometer controls
# Mini patchbay
# Dotmatrix display (external module - not included)
# PCB artwork
# Bend and hack points
# Expansion board capability
# Mini jack/headphone output
# Battery powered (9v battery not included)"

MUTE SYNTH Review - Wet & Dirty #TTNM
Published on Nov 1, 2014 The Tuesday Night Machines

"Here is a very serious review and sound demo of the Dirty Electronics Mute Synth I, a handheld noise synth with a twist ... or tilt. More info below. Subscribe: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c...
The Mute Synth is controlled by bridging connections with your fingers. It's a weirdly fun noise maker and I'm looking forward to the Mute Synth II, which is just around the corner. What do you think?

New MUTE SYNTH II in association with Dirty Electronics
Published on Oct 30, 2014 Mute
"The Dirty Electronics Mute Synth II (MSII), is a hand-held synth and sequencer designed in collaboration with the designer and writer, Adrian Shaughnessy. The MSII follows the first Dirty Electronics Mute Synth (MSI), originally created for the legendary Short Circuit presents Mute event at the Roundhouse in 2011.
MSII’s elegant design and focus on usability pushes through a pick-up-and-play approach, with switches and knobs, in conjunction with the touch controls inherent in the MSI, to enable complex and infinite rhythms and sounds to be created simply.
Mute Synth II comes with a selection of works created using the synth by artists associated with Dirty Electronics and Mute.

MSII is designed in collaboration with the designer and writer, Adrian Shaughnessy.
Mute Synth II is a statement against MPEG culture and places an onus on an active participant rather than passive consumer and has been born out of Dirty Electronics’ ongoing commitment to DIY approaches and noise aesthetics, and serves as a catalyst for experimenting with electronic sound.
Additional modules and add-ons make the MSII customisable and scalable.
Packaged with a booklet containing simple and clear instructions, diagrams and essays, the MSII opens-up usability to not only the synth aficionado, but also an untrained enthusiast.
