"I tended to trigger it via a hardware MIDI sequencer as it offered far more variety & allowed me to do things the on-board sequencer can’t. For a start, MIDI triggering means all sounds are velocity sensitive, with accent triggered when velocity is 80 or greater.

Also, MIDI triggering allows for 12 drum sounds to trigger externally as opposed to 11 via on board sequencer. Hand Clap & Maracas trigger independently, whereas with on-board sequencer you have to select on or other via the front panel switch (as for Toms/Congas.)

On the step-sequencer front I will say that whilst the machine is working 100% fine & has done for the 5 years I’ve had it, the step 12 button is a bit temperamental. Yes, it works, but you have to press firmly on the button for it to switch on/off. Once you get used to this it’s not a problem if you want to use the internal sequencer."

"This even has a "TV" output which is the first I have seen in an older synth, which the manual says basically means you can attach it to a normal TV and see the songs and lyrics (when loaded in) or you can just morror the LCD screen if you like, Brilliant! (you would need a basic cable for this although I will throw one in which may work)"
