Update: A Campbell Payne in the comments noticed something interesting I never paid attention to before on the original Microwave.  The back reads "Made in West Germany".   East Germany opened its borders on November 9, 1989 and the Berlin wall came down in 1990.  The Microwave I was released in 1989.  That's an interesting bit of synth history and a reflection of the times, forever engraved on a synth. It's interesting to wonder what it might have been like at Waldorf at that moment in time.  The celebration of their first Microwave and the end of the Berlin wall.

"I'm not going to say much today. This patch completely reflects the level of anxiety I have for a show exactly one month away. Won't have a lot of time to write up these patches for a week or two. Salud."

"Vintage 1970's Farfisa Syntorchestra Stereo Analog Dual , Polyphonic and Monophonic Synthesizer. this unit has been fully serviced by www.SDMachines.com in Doral, FL. All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with new ones to spec, including the power supply capacitors. switch light has been replaced with a new neon (same type as original). All but one op-amp was replaced with new ones on the mono section. Power chord is original and is in great shape. Some trimmers were upgraded for coarse and fine tuning of the mono section. Footage and transpose switch notes have also been calibrated. Cosmetically I’d say it’s a 6/10. it has some dings and scratches here and there. All 4 feet are soild and original. I was just happy to have one with a lid as the ones that dont have a lid suffer the most damage..."

Cyclone Analogic TT-303 Bass Bot Sequence Playback Bug

I've been meaning to put a post up on the bug and this auction listing reminded me of it.  Recently on the AH email list there has been some discussion on the TT-303.  The verdict on sound is pretty positive, some stating it is bound to be the next classic.  People are happy with it.  But... There is a bug with the sequencing software that people should be aware of.  Computer Controlled described it best on the list so I'll quote him (others have confirmed the bug so it's not just his unit): "The next selected sequence plays a note from the previous sequence on the first step of the new pattern. So, if you select a blank sequence, it will play a note on the first step. And conversely, when you select a programmed sequence after a blank one, there will be a blank step on step one."

"Here is my first video of the "R.A. Moog 701 Drum Synthesizer". I managed to get some sounds out of it - even though it was meant to *work* with the full "one-off" system as built by Bob in 1970. I think in the system it might behave a little more "drum-like"...!?! Ha!"
