"Today I'm introducing the Waldorf Protein.
Based on the original Waldorf Microwave 1’s ASIC oscillator, the Waldorf Protein is an affordable, compact 8-voice polyphonic wavetable synthesizer equipped with the latest features—including advanced arpeggiators, a step sequencer, chord mode, and effects—that incorporate technology from the Iridium.
While returning to the roots of Waldorf’s early instrument design, it evolves that philosophy into a form suited for the modern era.
Measuring 252 × 170 × 48 mm (including knobs) and weighing 0.9 kg, its portable, compact chassis houses performance that exceeds its class.
The Protein makes a strong statement as the first release in an upcoming new product line.
I introduce its superb sound and features through live performances!"
"Programming session/jam based in one of my single patches, developed on the fly in the course of 22 minutes. Tried to film the performance, but my phone crashed just seconds into the performance before i realized."
"40 handcrafted presets for the Waldorf Protein synthesizer, built around its powerful wavetable architecture to deliver rich, layered, and evolving sounds.
Protein's unique approach to wavetable synthesis opens up a vast sonic palette - and "Horizontal" explores that space with a focus on texture, movement, and atmosphere.
'Horizontal' is tailored for ambient, cinematic, electronic, and experimental music production.
Whether you're sculpting immersive soundscapes or adding subtle movement to your compositions, these sounds bring depth and emotional weight to your work.
Synth leads, basses, sequences, evolving textures, FX, and hybrid tones
Designed for cinematic, ambient, and experimental contexts
Works seamlessly in both professional and creative production workflows
What's included:
40 Layer with detailed loading instructions.
All sounds are presented as dry demos - no external effects or post-processing applied - so you can accurately evaluate each preset using Waldorf Protein's own effects section.
"The earliest and arguably best sounding version of the infamous Waldorf Microwave. This REV A model shipped with the eight analog Curtis CEM 3389 filters. (Running OS Version 1.25) - tested in great working condition. Shows average rack-rash, fully functional otherwise."
[Since I'm not a professional keyboardist, forgive me for my poor performance]

11 full-fledged sequences created with the internal sequencer
10 deep pads that convey a mountainous atmosphere to your Protein
2 Arpeggios, 4 forest noise effects, 2 Lead sounds, 1 Pluck, and 10 diverse synth sounds, from piercing to Synthwave.
Installation instruction includes."
"Music from the Bedroom #1 – My first lazy jam, built completely from scratch.
I start with a simple percussive foundation on the Dirtywave M8, then layer a single-oscillator patch on the Waldorf Protein and just explore where it takes me. Nothing polished, just raw ideas in the bedroom."
Acid exploration Jam 02 with Dirtywave M8 and Waldorf Protein
"Music from the Bedroom #2 – Acid exploration jam from scratch on Waldorf Protein with Dirtywave percussion presets.
Starts with a clean init patch on the Protein, evolves into full acid lines while the M8 runs live-mode percussion and pattern switches. Calm, repetitive, but constantly varying kick, snare, hats and acid lead. Raw 11-minute bedroom take.
Timeline:
00:00 Init Patch
00:20 Patch evolution
01:00 Acid - here it comes
02:30 Filter and FX added
03:35 Notes variation
04:14 Adding Percussion
06:40 Feels complete, now "live" mode
07:47 Now it really makes fun!
Patch sounds rough? Video quality questionable? Tell me in the comments – I can take it.
If you actually like it, I’d love to hear your feedback too.

"'Harmony of the Spheres' is a truly remarkable soundset for the Waldorf Iridium and Quantum synthesizers with 50 exclusive presets created by the well-known sound designer, film composer and sound therapist, Otto K. Schwarz. Whether you are composing ambient journeys, cinematic soundtracks, meditative music, experimental electronica or simply seeking moments of cosmic resonance, “Harmony of the Spheres” invites you to become part of this eternal harmony!
As the name suggests, this soundbank is dedicated to the ancient philosophical concept of the harmony of the spheres, also known as Musica universalis. The ancients spoke of the musical and mathematical structure of the cosmos. They believed that the movement of heavenly bodies gives rise to a perfect harmony, expressed through distances equal to the consonant musical proportions — a celestial symphony that resonates through the universe itself.
On the powerful wavetable, granular and sampling engines of the Iridium and Quantum, this philosophy comes vividly to life. Here you will find multi-layered pads that dissolve into infinite cosmic depths, evolving sequences that mirror the the cosmic cycles and events, hypnotic arpeggios that echo the orbital dance of planets and moons, cosmic leads that pierce the veil of unseen, and ethereal keys bathed in the radiant frequencies of starlight.
Otto K. Schwarz, with over 12 years of experience and collaborations with leading manufacturers such as Access Music, Modal Electronics and Native Instruments, brings his signature blend of psychoacoustic depth, emotional intelligence and therapeutic insight to this library. Each preset is meticulously sculpted to evoke not just sound, but a sense of universal connection — a sonic meditation on the hidden music that binds all existence! Experience the Journey!"
Keep an eye on the following links for the soundset:
This one moves between darkwave futurepop, trance and a slight EBM edge, with a melancholic atmosphere and a strong forward pulse.
I was inspired by artists like VNV Nation, Covenant, Angels & Agony, Apoptygma Berzerk and Assemblage 23.
The Novation Peak really shines in this jam, carrying much of the emotional depth, harmonic movement and overall character of the track.
Rig: Novation Peak, Korg Minilogue XD, Micromonsta 2, Waldorf Blofeld, Roland TR-6S, Novation Circuit Tracks (sequencing only), recorded raw to Tascam Model 12.

"Welcome to a full synth studio tour — a look inside my hardware setup featuring vintage analog synths, modern wavetable instruments, modular gear and classic drum machines.
See how a mix of vintage synths, modern instruments, modular gear and drum machines all come together in one integrated setup. In this video I walk through the studio, explain how everything is connected, and show some of the instruments that regularly appear on the channel.
The studio is constantly evolving as new synths arrive, others get repaired, and different setups are tested for videos. In this walkthrough you'll see how classic gear like the Juno-60, Prophet series, Minimoog, TR-808, TR-909 and Jupiter synths sit alongside modern instruments such as the UDO Super 8, Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave, Waldorf M, Arturia PolyBrute and Roland System-8.
I also explain how everything is routed through the studio — from CV-controlled vintage synths integrated with MIDI, to the AudioFuse interface and Neve summing mixer that handle the audio side of things.
If you've ever wondered how to organise a hardware synth studio, integrate vintage CV instruments with modern DAWs, or just want to see a room full of iconic synths and drum machines, this video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the setup behind the channel.
You’ll also hear a few stories along the way — including the slightly ridiculous “six degrees of separation” link from my studio gear to Charlize Theron and Kevin Bacon through the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels soundtrack.
Whether you're into analog synthesis, wavetable synths, modular gear, or classic drum machines, this studio tour is packed with gear, ideas and inspiration.

That was the first time I used five synth layers. Micromonsta 2 worked in bi-timbral Combi mode with two stacked layers because of limited sequencing resource of the Cirtcuit Tracks (only 4 MIDI tracks)-
Rig: Novation Peak, Korg Minilogue XD, MicroMonsta2 (bi-trimbral stacked), Waldorf Blofeld, Roland TR-6S, Novation Circuit Tracks (sequencing only), recorded raw to Tascam Model 12.
