In this video, Matt walks through assembling a electronic drum kit, only using samples from Cascadia. It's an exceptional drum synthesizer voice, with plenty of sound sources & utilities which make it perfect for crafting Kicks, Snares and other percussive sounds. For this demo, we teamed up Cascadia with the Elektron Digitakt - a sampler & sequencer. However, this process is totally repeatable with other sampler hardware or software - whichever you prefer!"

I work on a 1h liveset with this 2 machines and the limitation they bring.

Using the Dual Bypass feature, you control what modules come on and off with the bypass foot switch. Here we have the bypass foot switch bringing in and out Phaser and Reels. When it gets into self-oscillation territory (and if you have trails enabled), the self-oscillation will naturally decay when deactivating delay and other Diffusion effects. Makes for fun and interactive live effects processing 🎛"

"I was experimenting with binaural patching and came to a sound that made me think of the organ used in the Interstellar score. Naturally I’m no Hans Zimmer but I decided to create a simple sequence based on the score.

The setup is similar to last week where I’m using the Octatrack to sequence the Rev2. I added the BigSky and Mood MK2 for reverb and texture.

Due to the nature of binaural patching there is some voice stealing since my Rev2 only has 8 voices, might need to upgrade that later on.

Use headphones for the best experience."

"This very piece of music, more than any other, hooked me on the Buchla Music Easel.
It's taken from Donnacha's album 'Stay perfectly still', wich is an amazing testimony of what the Easel can achieve on it's own.
Here is my modest take on it.
The Easel became my favorite electronic instrument since day one when I bought one late 2017.
Maybe the only synth I really need.
This is a live take, the first one.
With a Boss DD5, a Strymon Blue Sky and Elektron Analog Heat.

About the Artist

Honeysmack is an electronic musician hailing from Melbourne, Australia. He has been actively producing music and performing live Techno for almost 3 decades, earning a reputation as one of Australia's leading electronic music pioneers.

Honeysmack grew from the underground rave scene of the early 90s, combining Acid and Techno to create a unique sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking. Labelled a maverick artist who brings a punk-rock aesthetic and philosophy to electronic music. He has released numerous albums and EPs, toured extensively and completed a PhD in Acid Techno! Honeysmack's performances are widely acclaimed for their high energy, dynamic and spontaneous character, all fuelled by his electronic music hardware.

Dr. David Haberfeld, his real name, firmly believes the essence of electronic dance music resides in a live improvised approach, very different to DJing. Equal parts performer, producer, prankster, punk and disrupter; Honeysmack’s reputation for challenging audiences by pushing the creative boundaries of Techno and how it is presented is consistent throughout his work. Honeysmack surrounds himself with an arsenal of drum machines and synths for every performance. This is LIVE improvised Acid Techno, performed live on the dancefloor. Elektron Monomachine soundscape - Slumbering sorrow

"Wow - I had no idea how bad the dust would look under the light… but it certainly looks bad. Well, guess it needs to be cleaned!

The Monomachine seems like an unlikely synth to use for an ambient soundtrack, but honestly, it sounds great.

I did try to load different sounds to use and switch between them, but the synth couldn’t handle that without strange glitching behavior (it can’t load different sounds fast enough using polyphonic voices).

Eventide Blackhole VST used for reverb."

"Patch notes: The Octatrack's audio outputs are processed by the Oneiroi, it also receives notes, clock and some modulations via Midi Thing V2.

Oneiroi is an ambient and drone-like soundscapes full voice.

At his core, there is a Wavetable/Supersaw, Sine Wave Oscillator and a joyful Looper. This is followed by an FX section featuring a Multimode filter, a Resonator, a Delay, and a Reverb.
Its randomizer creates instant patches at the touch of a button.
The Looper can record the external input or the output for 'Sound On Sound' looping.

"Here a quick jam , more proof of concept, done only with sample , from a eurorack session record with friends in paris.
We have plan to do more jam, and perhaps make an EP with the track made of the Jam sound material. This one is a quick one done in 1H, like i say more a proof of concept.
Since only sample was use, most of the sound you hear come from Octatrack and gotharman's LD3 with some euro sound process
