Poly Rave ๐Ÿ‘พ (Waldorf PROTEIN // Roland TR-6S // JU-06A // Moog DFAM // Squarp HAPAX)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"This time, I'm introducing a new instrument to the setup: the Waldorf Protein, used here for the CHORDS ๐ŸŽน

The rest of the setup is made of a Roland JU-06A for the BASS, a Roland TR-6S for the DRUMS (no samples used, only ACB analog behavior engine with mainly the TR-808 model) and, for some additional percussion, the only analog instrument in the setup: the good Moog DFAM ๐Ÿคฉ

Everything is sequenced by the Squarp Hapax, with quite a few things happening behind the scenes as usual.
MIDI LFOs are used to modulate some parameters of the TR-6S, while automation takes care of changing parameters on the JU-06A during the performance.

This time I also decided to use the Hapax's physical MIDI ports rather than relying on USB MIDI:
MIDI A : Roland TR-6S
MIDI B : Roland JU-06A
MIDI D (TRS) : Waldorf PROTEIN

And then there's the DFAM... which, as usual, refuses to speak MIDI. ๐Ÿ˜„
Since the DFAM doesn't have a MIDI input, I sent very short Gate pulses from the Hapax (Track 11) to simulate an audio clock, allowing its internal sequencer to advance in sync with the rest of the setup.

So, quite a lot going on behind what hopefully sounds like a relatively simple piece of music!

Another little experiment in making several machines behave together without making the whole thing look like a NASA control room ๐Ÿ˜„

As always, the performance itself was recorded in a single take. I do the mixing and mastering afterwards in Ableton Live."

Subtle Expressions: Squarp Instruments Hapax Performance

video upload by MKustomAudio

"With recently obtaining the Squarp Instruments Hapax to act as my main standalone sequencer, I've been diving deep into all the functions it offers. This is the first track I've made putting together a number of items such as automation, assign controls, creative MIDI effects (register, arpoly, etc.), BPM elasticity, and adjustable start/stop loop lengths. I've added notes in the video explaining some key points for the track and additional equipment used, but below is a more detailed list of the sound sources:

Korg Arp 2600 M
Novation Peak
Novation Bass Station II
Korg Opsix
Sequential OB-6 Desktop
Elektron Digitakt II
Befaco Oneiroi
Soma Lyra-8, Erica Synths Black 3109 VCF/VCA, Qu-Bit Mojave
Make Noise STO + Schlappi Engineering Angle Grinder, Make Noise QPAS, Intellijel Sealegs
Moog Mother 32, Ritual Electronics Miasma (Erica Synths Black Polivoks VCF in feedback loop), Erica Synths Blackhole DSP2"

Hapax + ALT : A Conversation In Sound

video upload by Squarp instruments and cyma forma

"Last year, our friends at cyma forma released ALT, a synthesizer unlike any other.

Intuitive, delicate, and endlessly surprising, it's the kind of instrument that constantly invites exploration. In this performance, Hapax acts as the conductor, providing structure and direction while leaving ALT free to be played by hand and reveal its unique personality.

A perfect pairing."

Recreating Pink Flyod's Iconic EMS Synthi AKS Sound | Voltage Labs

video upload by Voltage Labs

"In 1973, Pink Floyd released 'The Dark Side of the Moon', one of the most influential albums of all time. The track 'On the Run' is famous for its use of the Synthi AKS, a classic London-made analog synthesizer by EMS (Electronic Music Studios).

Today I’d like to show you how to recreate the iconic sequence of that track on an EMS Synthi A, then show how to program it on a Moog Mother-32, and finally how to patch it in a Eurorack system."

Twenties - Hybrid Setup Jam (Analog + Move)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"This one’s built around two main pieces of gear: the Vermona Perfourmer handling nearly all melodic duties (bass, plucks, lead), and the Ableton Move taking care of drums plus a few piano/strings layers.

You already know the Perfourmer is one of my all-time favorites, but the Move keeps surprising me: super versatile for a 4-track box, and I feel like it doesn’t get as much love as it deserves ❤️

Everything is sequenced from the Hapax, I skipped the Move’s internal sequencer this time as it's easier to control all the sequences only on one machine. The breaks come from the Hapax 'FILL' feature as usual.

I treated the Perfourmer like three separate instruments:
Voices 1 & 2 → plucks (through H90)
Voice 3 → bass (Apocalypse + Julianna)
Voice 4 → lead (Lofi Junky + BigSky + Pill for ducking)"

HAPAX 3.00 – IMPROVED MPE + VIRTUAL CABLES

video upload by Squarp instruments

"✨ We’re excited to announce that hapaxOS 3.00 is now available for download!

This major update introduces powerful new features, including MPE support and Virtual Cables, along with a range of bug fixes and performance improvements.
This opens up exciting new workflows for integrating the Hapax with your DAW or other gear.

To fully support the complexity and data demands of MPE, we’ve deeply reworked the system architecture. This is why we’ve moved to version 3.00: it marks a significant milestone for Hapax. The result is a more robust and reliable experience than ever before, including when working with classic Poly tracks.

A big thank you to all our beta testers who helped us refine this release over the past two months!

If you're a Hapax user—or considering becoming one—this update is definitely worth checking out."

Perfourm ๐Ÿ€ (Vermona Perfourmer + H90 // Apocalypse + Julianna // Lofijunky + Bigsky + Pill // Hapax)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"For this * very long * 'one synth only' jam, you'll be able to hear the sound of the Perfourmer with and without the effects pedals ๐Ÿ˜‰ (and even with and without the MIDI effects of the Hapax sequencing the Perfourmer).

The Perfourmer is setup like 3 instruments here:
Voices 1&2 for the PLUCKS thru the H90 pedal
Voice 3 for the LEAD/PADS thru the Lofi Junky + Bigsky + Pill pedals
Voice 4 for the BASS thru the Apocalypse + Julianna effects

The Perfourmer is fully sequenced by different tracks of the Hapax."

Exit Earth ๐ŸŒ (Roland SE-02 // S-1 // TR-6S // Cre8audio Boom Chick // Arturia Minifreak // Hapax)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"In this video, I keep exploring the Hapax sequencer’s capabilities even more:
Program changes to switch between different presets (TR-6S and Minifreak)
Automation (enabling and disabling MIDI LFOs controlling parameters on the SE-02)
MIDI effects: Arpeggiator, LFO, Randomizer, Output, Scaler, Swing, etc.
Modulation
Fill button used to make drum breaks, mute some tracks etc.
Conditions for notes to play when a certain condition is met...

All 5 instruments in this jam are being sequenced by the Hapax.

The little trick I used here is that, thanks to the Hapax' MIDI Output plugin, the BASS track or the ARP track can sequence the S1, depending on which MIDI Output plugin I've enabled.

⚠️ Heads up: I miswired the Minifreak, so it’s totally out of phase - if you listen in mono, it’ll disappear. ๐Ÿ‘ป"
