Sequential Prophet 6 - Dream Suite

video by Synthetic World 859

Synthetic World 859 was recently featured in a Sequential Artist Spotlight Interview (previously posted here)

"I wrote this Debussy-inspired piece specifically for the Prophet 6 after the vintage mode update came out. Headphones recommended! In the first section I use the stereo field to create a sonic drone orb. The second section is improvisational, leaning on a minor 6/9 chord into a major 7(#11). The third is variations on a lovey motif.

I really don't know anything about classical music, but this is where my ear lead me this time. Hope you enjoy it.

Sequential Featured Artist - KAELA

You can find an interview with KAELA on Sequential's website here.

"LA-based Kaela, (Kaela Sinclair) serves us experimental pop music layered with nostalgic, soul-searching, heartfelt vocals. Seasoned by years of traveling the world as a musician, she writes and produces works rooted in enduring vulnerability and jaded tenderness. From her childhood in Florida she made her way to music college in Texas where she studied jazz and classical piano and voice. She eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue music. In 2016 Kaela joined the French electronic band M83 and has since recorded with them (see DSVII, 2019). She has toured with other artists such as Troye Sivan or Blackbear, as well. Sequential Artist Spotlight: Dräger

video by Sequential

"Dräger is the ethos of Spencer Draeger’s dystopian modern era. With his hand on the pulse of a generation saturated in anxiety and melancholia, part satirical, part sarcastic but overall playful—Dräger takes a light hand to the heavy themes of technology, love and society at the precipice of a new world. Atwood Magazine states, “…his new dynamic sound is an ingenious blend of old and new inspirations: the driving rhythms of late 70s punk, synth heavy pop of the 80s, and the druggy, electronic compositions of modern psych-pop.” He uses sounds of the past to talk about the future.

With only a handful of singles out on Cell Vision, owned and operated by dance punk Mattie Safer of the Rapture and Poolside, his debut album Goths à la Discothèque is set to release this spring on Brooklyn's Trash Casual.

This artist spotlight video features Dräger and the Pro 3 synthesizer.

Sequential Artist Spotlight: Jameson Nathan Jones

video by Sequential

"Jameson Nathan Jones is a classically trained pianist, organist, and composer from Mississippi whose interest in modern electronics and sound design has led to a unique musical language all his own. Blending elements of modern classical and ambient music with the grittier analog textures often associated with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Jameson has created a sound that ranges from intimate and minimal to cinematic and raw.

Jameson's solo work has led to a number of film scoring opportunities, and his ever expanding sound palette ensures an evolving journey for the listener, though still rooted in his own musical language and style. This year has seen the release of his electronic/ambient LP, Signals, a collaboration with the popular YouTube explorers The Proper People. Jameson has also released a number of reworks, collaborations, and singles as he puts the finishing touches on a new album to be released in 2021.

This video spotlight features Jameson with the Prophet Rev2 and Pro 3 synthesizers.

Sequential Artist Spotlight Interview with SEEB

You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.

"You may know Seeb through their game-changing remix of Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza or their work with the likes of Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Tove Lo, OneRepublic, Bastille and Dagny. They’ve scored billions and billions of streams across all platforms to the point where statistically, 'every other person in the world has heard one of our songs,' explains Seeb’s Simen Eriksrud. All of that noise and mass communication was just chapter one though. Now, they’re taking their signature blend of melancholy and euphoria, dance music with a human sensibility, to the next level and down a more considered and artful path.

Kicking off the new year, Seeb have released their debut album Sad In Scandinavia, out now via EMI. The lead single Run It Up features highly acclaimed artists, K Camp, Tim North and Marty James.

We chatted with Seeb on how they’ve been using Sequential instruments in their music"

Sequential Artist Spotlight Interview with SULENE

You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.

"Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, Sulene moved to the U.S. at nineteen years old for music. Since 2015 she’s toured stages worldwide as the guitarist for Nate Ruess’ (of fun.) live band. Her singing and playing has been heard everywhere from Jimmy Kimmel Live! to the East Room of the White House, performing for President Obama. During this time, you’ve most-likely heard her voice during Halle Berry shower scenes or Al Pacino stage diving, as the multi-instrumentalist has written original music for and performed on the scores for several TV shows and films, such as Ray Donovan and The Affair. Her work is also regularly heard in TV commercials, being featured in spots for Nike, Verizon, Microsoft, Dior, and many more.

Though her experience is vast, her newest work speaks the loudest in terms of her unique voice. The forthcoming EP, he•don•ic features the singles, “whiskey.weed.sex.candy.”, “photo booth”, and “i still think you’re so fake”. Sulene delves deep into what addiction means, what purpose hedonic pleasures serve, and writes with vulnerability about her experiences with both. Exploring a darker side of her character and production, she’s labeled the newest record as gothic-disco-party music. As well as creating her own record from start to finish in her one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, she’s also delved into filming and editing her own music videos and artwork with this release, giving a full 360 view of her newest art.

Sulene’s previous EP’s Strange and Fire Escaping have been featured in Billboard, Buzzfeed Earmilk, as well as Spotify’s Indie Pop and New Music Friday playlists in several countries. Sulene was also feature in Rolling Stone for her contribution of the acoustic version of her song “Diamond” for the Rough Trade compilation album Talk – Action = Zero. And by the way, Sulene did the motion capture for the bassist/guitarist character in Rock Band VR.

We chatted with Sulene on how she uses the Prophet-6 in her music."
