"I had this 'patch' setup with the first and last prototype of the up and coming Elements Synthesizer- I like the sound a lot- both machines being controlled by the Analogue Keyboard circuit that I've done + my Korg SQ-10 sequencer...sometime you get a sound that you have to record! Now that is done- I'm taking the second prototype apart to check stuff out before submission to Engineering for production...!"

"DescriptionI have been working on the final Spring Reverberation circuits and the Tape Delay Simulator stuff for the Elelments Synthesizer- sometimes making a demo of a synthesizer can be quite hard- especially when one like this does so much- so I thought- just do whatever comes to me! It's quite a racus video at times- and to me there are some sounds that are reminiscent of vintage old school electronic stuff- at times there are some pretty ancient 40's and 50's like sounds! There may be mild distortion here- it's been recorded directly into my camera"

"This video shows a new parameter that I'm experimenting with on the Elements before its goes of for production- I say experiment- because this switch I've added could be utilized another way! So- what does it do- in this experiment- I have tapped out the very bottom rung of the diode ladder- I wanted to hear what it sounded like compared to the tap out that I did in the MacBeth Mk1 Filter 'A' Module...I certainly like the sound! I'm going to try interpolating 2 different filters shortly!"

"A lot my time is spent standing around! I've been standing listening the the voice board of the Elements Synthesizer- Board 'B' out of A,B,C,D in this unit- this is the last listening test that I do. Having nailed issues in Board 'C' - the touch keyboard unit- now perfection, I have also nailed issues in Board 'B'- it now just right, just perfect to what I'd like from this synth- certain 'elements' in Board 'B' needed refinement- and here it is. I've shot this clip of me playing with that filter- the new spring reverb circuit and the enhance 'tape delay simulator'...you can hear some of the results on this vid- sometimes subtle- sometimes brash- that flavour is myself! So, I stand for hours on end listening- when I hear something good- great! When I hear what I don't want- I correct........as seen- this may involve a beer, a cigarette or even a joint! This video represents the final listen.........manu next!"

Also included- some sample and hold from the Mk1 Modular....again, I've put the vintage Yamaha RX-50 in the effects loop instead of the Spring Reverberastion Tank!....and indeed, that curatain needs fixed!"

"This is my Sixth video of the Elements Synthesizer which features the 'Send/Return' Jack on the back! I've coupled once again the somewhat ancient Yamaha RX-50 effector that I have here. Also used- a Korg Sq-10 sequencer and some of the MacBeth Mk1 5U modular units...I wanted to record this as I was pretty blown away by the hugeness of sound! Again- whilst plying the Elements- it's the control/tactile feel of the larger controls that makes this thing very instrumental/mental!"

Here I explore some of the qualities of the deep Spring Line Reverberator that come with the synth- there is a Send/Recieve to the Spring Line Tank- it's not just the Spring line that you can attach to the Elements- as was suggested to me at the Frankfurt Musik Messe- why not use other things too......towards the end of this video- I've connected a Yamaha RX50 that I dug out to experiment with. I use pitch shifting and echo! The best part of the Spring Line unit circuit that I've done- is that it is practically, noise free!"

"Here's a slightly more dramatic video- a face off between the Elements Synthesizer and the MacBeth MK1 Monster 5U Modular Synthesizer! The keyboard and modulation functions are driving the bottom row of the Mk1 Modular - that is (including the Elements synthesizer) 6 audio oscillators. The Elements Spring Reverberator is well active here too....! The row above on the Mk1 is another 3 Oscillators/Mixer/Filter/EGs etc and that is being driven in a percussive way froma Korg SQ-10 Voltage Controlled sequencer...watch out for one of my (own) x-series modules fly out of the rack I'm at as I bash away! I wasn't screwed in- and it made a soft landing! As mentioned in previous videos- the Elements Synthesizer is available for pre-order from Analogue Haven/Schneiders'/Alex4 and Awave! THings should be out in June!"

"I wanted to apply Control Voltage to the Tape Delay Simulator section of the MacBeth Nexus/Elements synthesizer. When clocked at different speeds the results are dramatic! Will a little bit of feedback- just before oscillation- small 'artficats' can be heard if left to it's own devices. One oscillator ius providing the audio- the other oscillator is modulating the Tape Delay Simulator with Sample and Hold CV..Basically- this video is more 'audio' than video as there is not much potentiometer tweaking happening. I used myself and a camera as 'background' material for the vid! Although starting quietly- it certainly picks up! There's a real vintage European Electro vibe going on here!"

"Here's me playing guitar with a screwdriver...the Elements One has an 'acidic' tone quality special to it's filter type- the diode ladder- and lends itself very well to sequencing! I always liked the Gong like sound, and Steve Hillage too...first practice, but fun!"

"Further into experiments with touch keyboard/sequencer stuff...Elements One 84HP Eurorack Synthesizer (prototype) with Elements Three Touch Keyboard/Sequencer (near completion prototype) ...I'm working here with two sets of touch keys- one writes the sequence, the other allows transposition of sequence all over the place! This touch keyboard is allowing VCO1 to move around, while VCO2 stays at a fixed pitch sequence- so semi chord like structures are happening. This makes me think about a 2 x Touch keys controller! Drum machine is Roland CR8000 clocking the sequencer!"
