"Korg DVP-1 vintage voice synthesizer/ vocoder/ voice processor... To use it, a midi equipped keyboard sends not information which triggers the DVP-1's internal waveforms used for the vocoder. The waveforms sound very vintage and analog. The pitch shifter (and especially harmonizer) are nice effects, and can be applied to music with decent results. The chorus is absolutely wonderful sounding and is extremely useful. The vocoder is definitely the main feature in my opinion and after having used it, it has made this rack worth owning. The vocoder sounds warm and lush and compares very well to the SVC-350 from personal experience."

Original Instructions & Demo Tape for MOOG Bode Frequency Shifter

via the seller: "Up for bids is a set of both Original Short Form Operating Instructions and a Demo Tape for the MOOG Bode Frequency Shifter Model #735. I used to have this modular part as part of my modular system which I bought in the late 1970's and sold several months ago. I recently found these 2 items. I'm sure that someone will find them of great interest, since this was one of the rarest Moog modules ever produced.

The instructions appear to have come directly from the Bode Sound Company, and are on their letterhead. They are the original typed instructions, and not photocopied. These instructions are two full typed pages, and a 3rd page , which is a diagram, as you can see in my pictures. (there is also a hand drawn diagram on the back page- not drawn by me)

The tape is a regular cassette tape. There is a label on the tape itself- Side A states: Demo of Bode Vocorder Model No. 7702. Side B states on the label- Demo of Bode Frequency Shifter Model 735. The cassette is checked Dolby. Please note: I have never listened to this tape (although looking back I don't know why I didn't). It was included when I bought the module many years ago. I cannot guarantee what is actually on the tape, but I have no reason to presume that it is anything other than what the label states. The tape looks to be in good condition, with no hang-ups (turns freely), but for the reasons stated above I cannot guarantee that it works, and I don't have a cassette player on which to test it. Remember.....it is 35 years old!!! So I am offering it as is, and including it with the Instructions, which I am sure will be quite interesting to you."

"It's a vintage synthesizer - organ (called synthorgan) with three sounds: Organ, Bass, Synthesizer. You can mix ratios of sounds between them or use only one of them. I really love bass and synthesizer sound which are unique and fat. It's not Moog, it's not Roland, neither Korg - it sounds it's own way (you probably know what I mean if you ever heard synthesizers like Elektronika EM25 or Polivoks). If you're looking for bubbling and dark bass with beautifull VCO filters (section of synthesizer is really creative, you have filters, modulations and ADS included!), absolutely vintage chorus and delay, massive leads and other here it is! As for organ sound - it's full, really dynamic sound, so if you like Hammond you'll like it very much! Ouch, it also have expression pedal which works fine!...

I'm selling this one because I have Elektronika EM-141 Venta which is similar to this (I think it's the same, the difference is only colour of case and language of menu, it's well known that soviet instruments and hi-fi had sometimes two names for one machine - one for local market, another for export)"

"This Korg MS-50 is in VG+ cosmetic condition as depicted with a few minor scratches on the sides and back but nothing you'll see from a yard away. The front is surprisingly clean given its age. It does have a significant operational problem, which is that the sound output is very low. I believe this is due to some kind of an issue with either the power supply or the VCA stage. There may be other unknown issues that I was not able to trouble-shoot given this initial one. I lack the technical expertise to fix this so regretfully we are selling this synth 'as is.'"

Jordan Passmore, Korg 770, Roland TR-606 demo

"This video displays the fantastic Korg 770 Analog Synthesizer. In the first part of the video I do some leads, melody, then I go into some efx/ bass, then I use the 770 to process a Roland TR-606 analog drum machine. Near the end I play the 770 through an analog delay pedal (really old Washburn Accelerator Series pedal).

The Korg 770 has a wild tone. It can touch on MS-20-like sounds but it can also do beautiful leads. It is RAW. If you ever want to witness the shortcomings of any digital synth, set one up next to a Korg 770 and attempt to imitate.

This was my first video so the FPS is a little wonky. I apologize!"

Failed SympleSEQ Demo

"I screwed up the video portion but decided to use what I had anyways. This is the same synth patch as my previous video "Typical JLR Patch Demo" except this time instead of using a keyboard and MIDI to CV converter I'm using the SympleSEQ 8 step sequencer designed by http://shop.hexinverter.net/ and built by http://www.bigbluewave.co.uk/resynthesis/index.htm to control pitch and gate. Near the end I add in the Moon Modular 569 sequencer to control pitch and gate instead, while the SympleSEQ controls a STG Sea Devils VCF."
