0-Coast Ambient: moments cascade

Published on Mar 1, 2018 C Nich0lls

"Analogue synthesizer improvisation featuring Makenoise 0-Coast, Korg MS-20M, Korg SQ-1, Strymon TimeLine, Strymon BlueSky.

O-Coast is patched to route both audio and CV to the MS-20M, creating a shifting filtered sound where the different oscillators can be blended into a dense fuzz.

---Patch Notes---

SQ-1 has a set of 8 pitches programmed on row A and pots set on row B (7 steps) that are routed to the Time input on the 0-Coast Slope generator. SQ-1 is controlling the 0-Coast via CV and Gate and also a Korg MS-20M via MIDI. The SQ-1 is 'played' by turning steps on and off.

The 0-Coast is set to a simple patch, but both the audio output and some CV controls are routed to a Korg MS-20M. Audio is processed via the ESP through both High and Low Pass filters and CV control from the 0-Coast is also controlling the cutoff freq of both filters.

The track starts with only the 0-Coast routed with Korg MS-20M oscillators turned down. They are added and blended throughout the recording.

The track is a single take recording, no overdubs. The output of the MS-20M is routed through the Strymon TimeLine running a custom dBucket patch and Strymon BlueSky running a custom Hall patch.
