Let me put in my 2 cents on this program...it's awesome. I sometimes use it live in my improvisational electronica duo, The Bemus Point... at our web site, www.thebemuspoint.com, there's a live mp3 of us on which I have two instances of Soundplant running, one with timestretched video game sounds, the other with guitar and softsynth loops. ReplyDeletea very similar program has been available for years from Bludgeonsoft, which used to be ORISoft.it's called "back2basics" and was originally developed by the band "operation re-information" who couldn't find any software to suit their live performance needs. it's available for PC and Mac at:

i had no idea it was still being developed on ... i used to have alot of fun playing with this
and yeh, this is not anything like a tracker - in fact thats quite a silly statement... as in "hahahah!"
Holy cow. I haven't had this much fun with software in a long time. And my 3 year-old loves it, too! Expect his first 12" to be released in about three weeks at this rate.

Thanks for the link. This is simple yet awesome software. I have a spare keyboard (with missing keys) lying around and I'm thinking of using it's encoder to make a nice custom controller for SoundPlant with it.
