MidiMiniAfy Studio Electronics ATC-1

"This page is an attempt of tryin' to show how to perform the MIDIMINIAFY modification of a Studio Electronics (from here called SE) ATC-1 synthesizer for the NOVICE. The modification adds a pure sinewave and a discrete moog VCA to the analogue synthesizer."

Title link takes you there.

Update via [d] in the comments:

"Hum...when speaking of synths, one is never too far away from a friggin' cat reference: 'Also - think about what you're wearing and throw the cat out of the house. Cats are walking static electricity bombs.'"

Funny, I missed that. Sure enough this is at the bottom of the directions. Make sure to check out the comments for more.

  3. It's funny that Studio Electronics decided to market their synths as good 'Hip Hop'.

I really like their stuff. Much better value than the Phatty.

  4. I'm kinda confused here.
    What Moog VCA?
This added board has an opamp on it and no Minimoog or Moog modular used an opamp in their VCAs.

Fwiw, those solder points are not the result of the designer's foresight. They're feedthrus connecting the top and bottom traces.

  7. Hi! I'm no electronics expert and Kevin may be right for all I know - he IS the expert here - but it is a modification - an addition to the circuit - I think.. I recon Tim Caswell of SE can answer this better than me.. if I got the St.Regis brothers correct he constructed the modification. I like the sound of that particular modification anyway. Cheers!
