It is a really great synth. Just like an EMS. I'm gonna mod it up to the hilt with lots of madness. Probably change its effect section to be a few pedals.

ReplyDeleteawakened_yeti, yeah, I thought the same when I saw it. They both have that thin flat design. And then there's "ion" in the name of both of them...
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure one would call that a "clone". It seems pretty obvious that it's Iconic's attempt to repackage/retrofit the guts of actual EMS synths to hopefully re-sell it to musicians who either didn't know or for whatever reason weren't considering an EMS.
ReplyDelete- whoops, not sure if that reads right - I meant Ionic repackaged and slightly modified an EMS synth.
ReplyDeleteAs for repair, someone who could repair a VCS-3 with confidence (and not have any ill-will toward Ionic) whould be a good choice.
