much more expensive, anyway.
ReplyDeleteWow. Rarely have I heard a synth that totally nails 'PAIN'.
ReplyDeleteIt's settings must really be: 'NAIL in the Forehead', 'NAIL through the foot', 'Nine Inch Nail in the ASS'...
Ouch. It's very nihilistic. Totally incomprehensible. Even the knobs aren't labeled.
... it occurs to me that perhaps it would all sound so much better through a $12,000 mastering eq...
ReplyDelete(with the eq being unplugged of course ;)
(ala the John Cage Remix)
well there is a time and place for all sound...some days I want to just put it out without any sense of musicality...seemingly random squawks that are "interesting" in some obscure and very personal way .... other days I need some structure....I have heard some old Moog analogs in concert that approach the clips on the glamour box and I felt bad because those antiques are capable of so much more...while the glamourbox and it's ilk can never get much beyond the noise threshold...they are fun in the right setting...are they worth $230?...for my money I'd rather buy some dated gear (electribe?)_ ...and run it through my metasonix boxes or a Bitrman or Sonic ALienator....If I could get voltage control on the oscillators along with the rest it would make more sense to me
ReplyDeletesorry for the ramble
Yes, noise is fun. The Glamour Box is unusually painful. An achievement, in the right circles, to be sure.
