Bread, wine and a "303." I could go for that. Click image for the full shot. The caption on Acidcode reads, "... a little more than just a discontinued DIY project ;)" followed by a link to ladyada and the x0xb0x.
Update: according to Moogulator of sequencer.de there is no direct relation to the x0xb0x other than they are both clones of the Roland TB-303. The ML-303 was made in Germany. Not sure where ladyada is.
""here's a link [on sequencer.de] to the user manual for the ML-303 BassLine."

hi matrix, no .. the ml303 project is quite long ago, to me the V5 is the best one.. it has nothing in common with the lady ada project, which was indeed later but.. well.. there are some 303 projects on this planet, so it is not really a question of "pre or post"..
ReplyDeleteI've always had good luck with the Roland TB-303.
ReplyDeletewell, the ML-303 was a project created in germany many years ago.. and the xoxbox is fairly recent (within the last couple years) - that means the ML-303 was "pre" xoxbox.. it came before you see
ReplyDeletealso on the xoxbox page it says "Obsessive-compulsive? Well he is German
Our crazy German engineer obsessed over EVERY GODDAMN THING in this synth to make sure it was perfect."
coincidence?
the question of "pre or post" relates directly to these 2 specific DIY models in question, not the 303 itself, or other DIY projects.. of which there are many
Moogulator, do you know why the link on the ML-303 page goes to the x0xb0x? Maybe it's of the "we are no longer working on this 303 clone, but ladyada is with the x0xb0x, so we pass the torch to her."
ReplyDeletethey only want to be nice at the "lötstelle303" (soldering-point 303) forum and site, it has always been a bit "secret" but I know the ppl who did it, they simply wanted a nice 303 mod.. thats all, so why not linking to the one by lady ada,... thats all ;) there are 2 people who still post in some german forums who participated in the ml project.. they did not expect it to be important outside of our little forum - range..
ReplyDeleteSo there's wine, brad, and clearly the ML-303 supplies the CHEESE :)
ReplyDelete*ducks* as a bun is hurled at me.
